How to install

The extension requests minimal permissions:
  • Access to payperfax.com (to detect submissions)
  • Storage (to save your fax history locally)

No configuration needed! Just send a fax and the extension will track it automatically.
The extension only works when you’re on payperfax.com. It does not track browsing on other sites.

Privacy & permissions

The PayPerFax Tracker extension requires:Access to payperfax.com:
  • Detects when you submit a fax
  • Retrieves fax status updates
  • Does NOT access other websites
Local storage:
  • Saves your fax history in your browser
  • Does NOT send data to external servers
  • Data stays on your computer
The extension does not store sensitive content or payment information.
The extension stores locally in your browser:
  • Fax submission timestamps
  • Destination numbers (last 4 digits only)
  • Status updates
  • Transaction IDs
NOT stored:
  • Document contents
  • Full fax numbers
  • Payment information
  • Personal details

Using the extension

  1. Visit fax.payperfax.com
  2. Submit a fax as usual
  3. The extension icon will indicate tracking has started
  4. Click the icon to see real-time status
  5. Receive notification when fax completes
Click the extension icon to:
  • See all tracked faxes
  • Filter by date
  • Check status of any fax
  • Review transmission details
History is stored locally in your browser and persists across sessions.
Right-click the extension icon for options:
  • Enable/disable desktop notifications
  • Clear history
  • View extension version
  • Remove extension

Troubleshooting

Try these steps:
  1. Refresh the PayPerFax page
  2. Check that extension is enabled (not disabled)
  3. Clear browser cache
  4. Reinstall the extension if issues persist
Check notification settings:
  1. Right-click extension icon → Options
  2. Verify notifications are enabled
  3. Check browser notification permissions
  4. Ensure system notifications are allowed
Possible causes:
  • Browser in incognito/private mode (history won’t persist)
  • Local storage disabled
  • Browser clearing data automatically
Regular browsing mode recommended for history persistence.

How to track your faxes

PayPerFax offers three complementary ways to track your fax transmissions:

Submission Page

Email Confirmations

Automatic email recordsEvery fax generates an email confirmation with transmission details, destination CSID, and PDF copy of what was sent. Always sent, no setup needed.

Browser Extension

Centralized browser historyOptional toolbar extension providing quick access to all your past faxes, visual status indicators, and desktop notifications.
All three methods work together. You always get email confirmations, can always stay on the submission page, and can optionally add the extension for centralized browser-based access to your fax history.
